Classic Ford Mustang for sale in the UK
More first generation Mustangs were built than any other American classic of the era, which means the market rewards discrimination rather than enthusiasm. The car is easy to find. The right car is not.

Ford Mustang GT350
The 1967 fastback carries a GT350 badge and a 347 stroker, so the honest description is fast first and correct second. Red, loud, and unapologetic about which of those matters more.

Ford Mustang Mach 1
A 428 Cobra Jet is the engine every Mach 1 claims to have and almost none actually do. White paint, seventeen thousand miles, and the shaker scoop earning its place.

Ford Mustang Mach 1
Built in San Jose with the 351 four venturi, finished in red, and driven sixty three thousand miles by owners who evidently liked it too much to shelve it. That history shows in the way it sits.

Ford Mustang Mach 1
Blue over a 351 four barrel, which is the sensible man's Mach 1 and the better car for it on a British road. Forty thousand miles and none of them hurried.
The things that decide whether a car is worth the money.
Read the data plate first
The door data plate and the VIN tell you the engine code, the assembly plant, the original colour and the build date. A large share of cars presented as GT, Mach 1 or Boss specification are well executed tributes. We decode every Mustang we assess and state whether the specification is original, correct to code, or an aftermarket recreation. There is nothing wrong with a tribute car. There is something wrong with paying original money for one.
Body over engine
Torque boxes, the cowl vent, the front frame rails and the shock towers are the structural areas that decide whether a Mustang is worth restoring. Engines and interiors are commodity items with excellent parts support. Straight, rust free structure is not, and repairing it properly costs more than most buyers expect.
What the UK market actually pays for
In Britain the fastback carries a clear premium over the notchback, and the 1967 to 1968 cars in strong colours consistently outperform later, heavier examples. Convertibles do well but are more sensitive to condition. Automatic six cylinder coupes are pleasant, plentiful and rarely appreciate in the way owners hope, so we buy them only when the car itself is exceptional.
Living with one here
A pre 1986 Mustang registers as historic in the UK, which removes road tax and the annual MOT requirement. We supply the import documentation, the customs entry and the DVLA registration pack, and we are candid about which cars suit British roads and which are better as fair weather vehicles.
- Decoded VIN and data plate matching the described specification
- Sound torque boxes, rails and shock towers
- Documented history rather than a folder of receipts alone
- Colour and specification combinations the UK market values
